Interactive Training Worlds
02/05/09 05:02:45 PMWe typically talk about 3D for the purposes of marketing or sales. With the increase of tech-savvy employees (Generation Net), we need to rethink how we deploy online training. The traditional e-learning “page turners” really don’t teach procedures all that well. They also put most people to sleep.
We can take the principles of 3D interactive games and apply them to training environments. Here’s an example that Heartwood Studios recently created for Raytheon through its C2Act training platform.
- PC-based training environment that trains installations, maintenance and repair, and operations;
- Allows large-scale rollouts with no additional materials; and
- Reduces the risk of injury to individuals and damage to high-value equipment.
