Welcome to Visuual—a space dedicated to the visual revolution that’s rapidly spreading across the world.

Visual storytelling began with 3D tools such as digital renderings and animations. Now, new tools and applications seem to appear almost every week. Here are just a few examples:

· Interactive 3D environments that solve business problems;

· Tools that turn 2D photos from the real-world into immersive 3D models;

· Digital mash-ups that combine real-world photos and database information; and

· New business application—operations, training, maintenance, HR, etc.

Visual storytelling increasingly impacts how we live and work. So, Heartwood Studios launched Visuual.com in 2008 to bring thought-leadership into this domain.

We currently offer three things here at Visuual.com:

1. The Visuual Blog: Thought leaders in the visual storytelling world share their insights on the hottest new trends, offer case studies, and discuss best practices.

2. Visuual Insights: Our collection of the “best of” visual information from across the web and the blogosphere. Visuual Insights are vetted by volunteer Trustees who submit these stories along with their interpretations. You get the best of both worlds—a place where information is organized and also a place where experts (the Trustees) interpret the news for you.

3. Visuual Q&A: Ask us a question about visual storytelling, and experts will share their insights on the topic.
